The Role:
The successful candidate will play a leading role in Total AOC’s software development team. The team are in the early stages of planning a significant evolution of the system, so now is a great time to join and help shape the future architecture and UX of the product.

You will work across back-end and client-side code to deliver the roadmap of new features and technical enhancements planned for the product. Additionally, you will also work closely with the Customer Support team to assist with queries from clients and play an active role in the day-to-day technical operation of the system.

This is a permanent role based at Total AOC’s superb office facilities at Biggin Hill airport.

Key skills and experience required:

  • ASP.NET 4.5 / C# / Web Forms / MVC
  • Entity Framework 6
  • SQL Server and T-SQL
  • Web Services / XML
  • HTML / CSS
  • JavaScript with JQuery and JQuery UI

Additionally, the following are not essential but would be beneficial:

  • Experience with AngularJS, Ember or other MVVM frameworks
  • CI and DevOps techniques and technologies
  • iPad / iOS app development
  • Experience working within a fast paced Agile environment
  • Client-facing experience
  • Interest in/knowledge of Aviation

Salary: In the region of £20,000 upwards, depending on experience

Job role:

  • 1st line customer support agent (software)
  • Liaising with clients by telephone and email day-to-day, occasionally in person
  • Answering questions on how to use the software
  • Assisting with changes to system configuration
  • Investigating issues as reported by clients to identify whether user error or software bug
  • Writing and maintaining of clear, concise issue summaries to enable client ticket tracking
  • Communicating with the development team on a daily basis to understand outstanding ticket status
  • Proactive account reviews with clients to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction

Essential skills:

  • 1-2 years frontline customer support experience within IT/software
  • Confident speaking to external clients under pressure.
  • Methodical problem solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Flexibility and adaptability – must be able to carry out and switch between multiple types of task daily
  • Comfortable with technology – good working knowledge of MS Office and a ‘knack’ for computers.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • General administrative duties, such as filing, maintaining stationery stock records
  • Ad-hoc office tasks such as setting up rooms for client meetings, catering
  • Basic invoicing and chasing of outstanding payments
  • General diary management skills would be helpful

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience in, or knowledge of/interest in, aviation sector
  • Experience within SaaS sector
  • Knowledge of JIRA
  • Knowledge of Zendesk
  • An excellent telephone manner
  • Helpful attitude and willingness to take on any task
  • Excellent ‘teamwork’ attitude

Working hours:

40 hours per week.

Mon – Fri, 08:30 – 17:30

Some weekends and evenings may also be required on a planned schedule
